Help us eat please! Frigidare Range, oven issues

My Frigidare electric oven will not stop heating up no matter what temp. it is set to. I tested the RTD which pokes through the back of the oven with my meter set to 2K. Meter read 1.083. Manual says should read 1000 ohms-1100 ohms. I also checked the bake and broil elements and got between 15-17 ohms which should be good. Any advice from anyone would sure help my family out. We unfortunately dont have the money to hire someone to come out to house or even buy another oven. My name is Kenny and Im in Jacksonville, FL.

I am working on a JennAir range M# SVE87600B. The clock would not keep time and we were getting apower relay board fault. I ordered and replaced the parts in question and the clock and oven are now functioning normally. However now the touch pad does not respond to ron the left side burners. I have cleaned the ribbon cable to no avail. I can manipulate the ribbon cable and get it to function intermittently but thats it. I swapped the left and right side burner controls and the control functions normally. Does anyone know any tricks to help resolve this issue? The touchpad is N.L.A. Part #71002649.... If someone has it in stock and is willing to part with it please let me know. Thanks.

Robert, have you taken your element out of the casing? Sounds like you have a grounded element. It could be that the coil has broken and welded itself to the metal casing, if so the element will continue to stay on all the time because it will bypass all the fuses and thermostats.

Fridgidaire evaporator problem

The evaporator fan on my side by side model number GLR264ZAW0 isn't getting power. I've changed tha evaporator motor, the adaptive control board and the compressor capacitor, the three things suggested by repair guides. I also shorted out the freezer door switch, no luck. The compressor runs, the evaporator cools down, but no power to the evaporator fan. Someone please help, I'm about to go crazy.

First I must know whether the unit is actually going into defrost and what measure you have taken to determine this. There are other reasons why your refrigerator would not run for 2 to 3 days. You will need to run down the conditions in steps. Are there lights on when refrigerator is not running? When it is running does the fresh food control affect compressor operation? Have you noticed any humming followed by click? Is the compressor hot- too hot to touch? Are your condenser coils blocked?danhaan27@msn.com wrote:

This unit doesn't have a mechanical defrost timer that will get stuck in defrost like the older ones will. Do you do anything to get it working again after it stops?

You need a whole pump assembly and you need to find out why the solenoid burnt up for the second time. You might need a new timer or control board.

best way is to dissassemble the dryer cabinet and get to the blower, once there take compressed air and blow it out.; you will be surprised how much lint and dust comes out of dryer.

Could you provide a model number so we may see what we are dealing with?

Just from the info you have given, it could be your water level switch, something blocking the pressure hose, or a bad timer. If you can provide a model number and more detailed info on what is happening (the washer won't spin, etc.), I'm sure we can get it figured out for you.

Thanks,

Jus tried a new water inlet valve and same symptoms.

Why only 1.3 - 2.0 volts though??

I am getting 120 at the wall outlet, and checked all wirings which seem to be intact and ok.

what could it be?

checked the screens and cleaned them. Took the hoses outside to garden hose and they were clean.
Grabbed the multimeter and checked the solenoids -

863 ohms (give or take)

1.1 volts

Don't hear the solenoid click/engage.

Bad water inlet valve? Not enough power going to it?
